Four McAuley Seniors Sign For Basketball And Volleyball

CINCINNATI, OH –November 13, 2014- On Wednesday, November 12, four McAuley High School seniors signs letters of intent to play collegiate sports next year.  The McAuley community is proud of these young women and celebrates their achievements!

Abby Gourley, the daughter Jason and Tricia Gourely of Mt. Healthy, will be playing volleyball at Alderson Broaddus University in Philippi, WV.  This year, as a setter and co-captain, Abby received an Honorable Mention GGCL and was third in the league in assists, with 707.  She plans to major in nursing.

Tori Hemsath also signed to play volleyball.  Also a co-captain, she will become a Mountain Hawk at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA and major in graphic design.  Tori, who is the daughter of Andy and Michelle Hemsath of College Hill, was 1st Team All-City, 1st Team GGCL, 1st Team All-District, and had 336 kills, the highest in the GGCL.

Basketball co-captain Sydney Lambert committed to play her sport at Bowling Green State University.  The daughter of Jeremy and Stephanie Lambert of White Oak, she is undecided as to her choice of college major at this time.   Past recognitions for Sydney include 1st Team GGCL and 1st Team All-District.

Emily Volgelpohl, a McAuley co-captain as well, signed to play basketball for the Wright State Raiders.  She has been 1st Team GGCL, 1st Team All-District, and one of the leaders in scores, steals, rebounds, and assists in the GGCL  Emily is the daughter of Eric and Kellie Vogelpohl of Monfort Heights and has not yet chosen a college major.
